Jyotish Reading (Vedic Astrology)
with Kailas

The Karma of Healing

Jyotish is translated "the Will of the Light" and ancient healers, shamans and astrologers used the methods of Jyotish to understand karma, as seen through the interactions of the main rays of energy that comprise our glalaxy.

Unlocking Transformation

Understanding which heavenly bodies are influencing us can open up new doors to transformation - so we can work in harmony with Nature and our karma. The Constellation Spirits are called Nakshatras, and at the moment of our birth, one of the 27 Nakshatras is seen in the sky directly behind the moon, and it sets forth information about the dominant mood we encounter in our lives.

In addition to these Nakshatras, the Planetary Spirits of our solar system, called in Sanskrit the Grahas, have complex roles in what is termed "Karma Phala" the fruits of our karma. Understanding these relationships opens the door to unity with Nature, the Dharma or natural order. The Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Saturn, Jupiter and Venus are the main deities of the solar system, but there include special Grahas such as Rahu and Ketu which show our karma in relation to material success and spiritual individuation.

Jyotish HealingThe Spirit of Time itself is also represented in Jyotish, and called Kala Purush in Sanskrit. Understanding Kala Purush gives us a deep appreciation of the role of Time as the Gatekeeper of our karma.

Remedies and Therapies

-1. Yoga analysis:

Yogas set the context for the life, how far above or below the norm a person's life is, and in what areas. Yogas are more important and more influential than the simpler analysis of the effect of planets in or ruling houses.

2. Lagna analysis:

The status of the Ascendant, its occupants, aspects, and lord determine how well the person weathers their lives, and how well they can utilize the gifts that they are given.

3. House analysis:

The strengths and problems within specific houses can be examined in the same way as the inspection of the Ascendant in #2 above.

YOGAKARAKA / RAJAYOGAKARAKA

In Vedic astrology, when it so happens that a single planet owns both an angle (houses 1,4,7,and 10) and a trine (houses 1,5, and 9), it becomes a supremely auspicious planet

 Raja Yoga

Raja Yoga means “royal union”, it is formed by the association of planets and the houses they rule. Raja Yoga is formed by a planet of a kendra house together with a planet of a triconal house. The kendra houses (1,4,7,10) are the houses of manifestation and the triconal houses (1,5,9) are the houses of purpose or dharma. The first house serves as both. When planets are combined with both action and purpose great things manifest.

Yoga Karaka

A Yoga karaka is when one single planet forms Raja Yoga by itself. It rules two different houses, one is a triconal and one is a Kendra. The first house can serve as either in the combination. In both Taurus and Libra ascendants Saturn is the Yoga Karaka. In Taurus ascendant Saturn rules the 9th (trinal) house, and the 10th  (kendra) house. For Libra ascendants Saturn rules both the 4th (Kendra) and the 5th (trinal). Other ascendants that have a Yoga Karaka are Capricorn and Aquarius. They both have Venus as the Yoga Karaka. With Capricorn Ascendant Venus rules the5th and the 10th. Aquarius ascendant Venus rules the 4th and 9th. For Cancer and Leo ascendants Mars is the Yoga Karaka. Cancer ascendant will have Mars rule the 5th and the 10th. Leo ascendants will have Mars rule the 4th and the 9th. No other ascendants will have a single planet rule both a kendra and a trine. These are the only ascendants to have a Yoga Karaka. A Yoga Karaka planet will be a planet that brings great benefit to the chart, even though it may be a natural malefic planet.

For any ascendant, some planets become Yogakaraka or maraka, depending upon the house they own. This is one of the most important factor in prediction. A yogakaraka planet shows good results in its dasha or antar Dasha.
Planets which are yogakaraka for each ascendant are given in the table below.

Benefics - Lords of 1, 5, 9
Yogakarakaand lords of 4, 7, 10, if natural malefic.
Malefics - Lords of 3, 6
